Despite the passage of time—which in the case of this book mainly means that the children in the photographs illustrating the book would look really, really strange to children reading the book today—I would actually hand this little volume over to any elementary school child who wants to know about light. The text is clear and covers a lot of ground about light and color, and the illustrations are quite good. Adults, of course, would be better going back to Understanding Physics, Volume Two, but this is top-notch for children.
