An astronomer attending an international conference on SETI is assigned an affable but rather stupid driver, who at one point makes a mysterious remark and not long later dies a violent death.
This is a fairly weak story, since the solution to the puzzle—the driver refers to “Plato” by a version of the name more common in Eastern Europe than in the US, hence possibly betraying the fact that he’s a plant—is enormously weak to the point of being utterly unbelievable.
